Title:  How to erase a backup tape as much as possible in Arcserve?

Description:

You might want to try to erase the backup media as much as possible, for security reasons.

Solution:

If you want to try to erase the backup media as much as possible for security reasons, use Long Erase.

From the CA ARCserve Device Manager, select the correct tape that you want to erase.

Click "Erase" from the tool bar.

Select "Long erase"

This process may take a long time.

Long Erase removes the media from the beginning of the tape to the end of the tape.
